Bonjour les amis!
Winter is finally over and the sun is shining in beautiful Paris. Everybody is taking the apéritif at a terrasse and enjoying the warm temperatures. And as the season is changing I am getting more and more queries from clients on what to pack for their coming trip to the city of Lights so I thought I would share the info with all of you :)
First rule and probably the most important one, don't overpack you will be shopping here (maybe with me lol) and you will find loads of treasures, therefore just bring the basics. My list would include the 10 following items:
1. A pair of jeans
2. A pair of skinny jeans (ideally black or dark color) that you can also wear with a nice top to go out at night
3. A pair of pants: ideal colors being beige, navy, grey, black, etc.
4. A trench coat
5. Tops: we don't wear often shirts (the French style is more casual chic) and t-shirts are too casual if after 30 thus the solution? blouses, we love them :). My advice? Bring a couple of tops and you'll get more here...
6. A blazer: you can wear it during the day and it's perfect with a pair of skinny jeans for a night out
7. Sneakers: they are super popular right now so don't hesitate...you will be walking a a LOT!! But carefull not all sneakers are fashionable: white ones are the top pick (stan smith, superstar), new balances, nike and vans.
8. One pair of high heels: to wear at night
9. A pair of sunglasses...shades are an essential item of "the people watching while sitting at a terrasse" outfit :)
10. Red lipstick: last but definitely not least: leave your make-up case, we barely make up, just take some concealar and red lipstick for your night out.
In Paris:
scarf: we LOVE our scarves and you will probably end up buying one (if not more lol) here
blouses: casual ones but also some fancier ones that you will be able to pair with a simple pair of jeans, a blazer, a scarf, heels and get the perfect Parisian look :)
dresses/skirts: you will find some very nice ones reasonably priced
"perfecto": the classic leather jacket that Parisians love
summer shoes: sandals, espadrilles, slip ons.
beauty/care products: to be found in parapharmacies
